About Us
Griffin Commons is a management consulting firm that utilizes the shared space, the commons, to build knowledge and skills to provide innovative and sustainable project solutions with and for our clients. Grifffin Commons utilizes the skills of proven professionals in the areas of design, development, construction, landscape architecture, social sciences, engineering and safety management to serve their clients. Griffin Commons is a certified minority-owned, Pennsylvania Unified Certification Program Disadvantage Business Enterprise.
CEO & Founder Jim Griffin created Griffin Commons in 2018 to refocus his work on serving public facing institutions with a focus on parks, open spaces, under-served communities and place making in the interest of promoting improved communities. Jim's professional experiences include stops at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, IBM Global Business Consulting and The Hermitage Group, a management consulting firm, which he founded in 2005.
Other affiliations include joint ventures with leading Pittsburgh construction management firm and clients such as the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Allegheny County Economic Development, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Pittsburgh Public Schools and Penn State Univeristy. He is a graduate of Yale University and Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business with a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration (M.B.A.). He is also a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
